Hunters Rest was established in June 1997 and has long been a valued part of the Hoedspruit accommodation landscape. For over 28 years, the establishment was proudly owned and managed by Karien Erasmus, who built Hunters Rest into a well-loved retreat known for its warm hospitality, comfort, and relaxed bushveld atmosphere.
After nearly three decades of dedicated ownership, Karien handed over the reins, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Hunters Rest. The establishment is now under new ownership, bringing a fresh dynamic while maintaining the character and values that have made it a trusted choice for returning guests over the years.
The new chapter focuses on preserving the homely, welcoming feel of Hunters Rest, while gradually enhancing the guest experience through thoughtful improvements and renewed attention to comfort, service, and detail. What a lovely guest house and owner! Extremely hospitable, friendly and welcoming. The property is very neat and pretty and the room was clean, lovely and comfortable. Karien is great host always happy to answer questions. Karien was happy to drop me at the shops a few times, this was incredibly helpful as i did not have a vehicle to get around. The room was nicely furnished with great pressure from the shower and a really strong reliable wifi connection.
There are many coffee shops, restaurants and souvenioiur shops nearby. the people with the community centre are pleasant and easy to talk to.
